  • Make your last wishes known and outline how you want to your personal property and business assets distributed after death. Be clear and include everything. Do not think your heirs will work it out among themselves.

  • Your estate plan may include setting up a revocable trust, also known as a living trust, or setting up an irrevocable trust to secure and protect your assets from future generations. Assets in a trust do not go through the probate process.
